![]() You need an external source to set the levels correctly and these Dolby files are the only ones I can find that include tones for all the height channels. They will send lossless Atmos to your AVR - and have been developed by dolby to really show off the full extent of Atmos with Dolby created demos, select scenes from a variety of movies, music and sports etc. If you are setting up a receiver such as the Arcam with Dirac you can’t use the internal tones generated by the receiver as these are sent out before the Eq is applied. The best source for demo-ing Atmos is going to be the Dolby demo blu ray discs (though you obviously need a compatible blu ray player). There are loads of free programs that help get just the files over on to the stick in the right format. When used with Blu-ray Disc content, either a DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack or a Dolby TrueHD/Atmos soundtrack may be included. ![]() The actual full download including loads of demo clips is 21gb which will of course fit on a 32gb USB stick. This contains speaker test tones for all the most common Atmos speaker layouts and the tones stay on each speaker for a long time before moving to the next. However, the one from DOLBY is showing as a 5.1 audio source and does not properly convey the 'bird' sound and the other, according to my MPC-BE program is playing as 7.1 and has the following properties (see below) but also IS NOT doing the proper 'bird surround', it seems to put out generic sound instead.
